Happy Tuesday, Walnut Creek!

πŸ’‘ Did you know: The event now known as the Locust Street Festival actually began in 2014 as the First Wednesday Street Fest. In today’s edition:

  • Locust Street Festival returns for one final summer celebration

  • Two free outdoor concerts this week

  • The Catalina Wine Mixer celebrates Rotator Taproom's 8th anniversary

  • Fall Arts & Recreation registration opens

  • Library book sale treasures

  • Comedy night downtown

Let’s get to it.

πŸŽ‰ Locust Street Festival Returns

If you've been meaning to make it to Locust Street Festival this summer, Wednesday is your last chance. Downtown Walnut Creek transforms Locust Street into an open-air celebration that feels part neighborhood block party, part food festival, and part summer market, with something happening around nearly every corner.

More than 100 artisan vendors will line the street alongside gourmet food vendors serving everything from barbecue and pizza to Thai food, cookies, lemonade, shaved ice, sushi, and steakhouse favorites. Live music fills the evening while aerial performers, mini golf, balloon artists, face painting, a petting zoo, crafts, and a gelato eating contest keep families entertained.

New this year, Downtown's Entertainment Zone lets guests purchase a beverage from participating restaurants and enjoy it while exploring designated areas of the festival. It's a welcome addition that makes strolling between shops, food vendors, and live entertainment feel even more relaxed.

With one final chance to experience the festival this summer, expect one of the liveliest evenings of the season in downtown Walnut Creek.
