Community, creativity, and celebration come together this week as the Walnut Creek Pride Art Fest returns for an evening of art, music, and connection. The event brings together local artists, makers, performers, community organizations, and residents for a colorful gathering that highlights the diversity and creativity that make Walnut Creek such a special place to call home.

Visitors can browse artwork from local creators, enjoy live entertainment, connect with community groups, and explore a variety of vendors throughout the evening. Beyond the art itself, the event creates an opportunity for people to come together, meet neighbors, and celebrate the many voices that contribute to the fabric of the community. Between the exhibits, performances, and community booths, there will be plenty to see, explore, and experience throughout the evening.

🎤 Roy Orbison Returns

One of music’s most recognizable catalogs comes back to life at the Lesher. Roy Orbison Returns celebrates the legendary singer-songwriter behind hits like Oh, Pretty Woman, Only the Lonely, and Crying. More than a tribute concert, the performance blends live music with stories from Orbison’s life, creating a nostalgic evening that longtime fans and newer listeners can both enjoy.

🎬 Joybound People & Pets Community Movie Night: Balto

Grab a blanket, bring the family, and don’t forget the dog. Joybound’s summer movie series continues with a screening of Balto, the beloved animated story about a heroic sled dog delivering life-saving medicine through the Alaskan wilderness. Concessions, beverages, and treats will be available onsite, making this an easy and affordable family night out with a feel-good cause behind it.

🚌 Youth Ride Free Is Back

Parents, here’s one less thing to coordinate this summer. County Connection’s popular Youth Ride Free program has returned, allowing anyone 18 and under to ride participating buses throughout Contra Costa County at no cost. No application, pass, or ID is required. From summer camps and pool days to jobs and meetups with friends, the program makes getting around a whole lot easier.

🛍️ Makers Market Outdoor Market

Broadway Plaza turns into an open-air marketplace filled with local makers, artists, and small businesses. Shoppers can browse handcrafted jewelry, home goods, apparel, candles, and more while enjoying live music and food from surrounding restaurants. It’s one of the easiest ways to support local businesses while spending a few hours outdoors downtown.
